I am a dedicated safety professional who has spent the last 10 years in the residential construction industry working as the OH&S and Environmental Manager for one of the biggest residential construction businesses in Australia.
Throughout the 10-year journey, I created and oversaw the following:
- An entire OH&S department
- An entire OH&S Team which at the time of my departure boasted 7 team members
- Complete overhaul of current OH&S Policies & Procedures and the implementation of many new ones including:
- Working at Heights
- Plaster crane up
- Scaffold procedure
- Frame ready procedure
- Silica procedure
- Creation the Group’s Safety Management Plan, Industrial Relations Plan and Procedure and Risk Management processes
- Creation of templates, checklists, audits, training videos and toolbox pages using the digital platform Safety Culture
- Managing over 300 employees, 2000 contractors and sub-contractors.
- I was Vice Chairman for 2 years (2019-20) on the VVHBSA (Victorian Volume Home Builders Safety Alliance), a board of which all the major residential builders OH&S managers sit on as well as representatives from the MBAV, HIA and WorkSafe
- Tendering and winning the Groups first ever Government Project for NDIS, a build project worth over 20 million dollars
